After a long Waiting , signs of relief have emerged in Iran’s civil aviation sector as the country announced the partial reopening of its airspace from 7:00 AM on Saturday, April 18, following security and safety assessments by the Civil Aviation Organization; the airspace had previously been closed amid military tensions involving the United States and Israel, but after a review by the National Civil-Military Coordination Committee, a NOTAM was issued reopening parts of the airspace along with several key airports, with eastern Iran’s airspace now open for international transit flights bringing some relief to global air traffic, while six major airports including Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport and Mehrabad International Airport, as well as airports in Mashhad, Birjand, Gorgan, and Zahedan, have resumed operations; the Association of Iranian Airlines said carriers have already begun reorganizing flight schedules and are rapidly moving to restart both domestic and international routes, with state media confirming ticket sales have begun, authorities noted that flight operations will be normalized gradually based on technical and operational readiness in both military and civilian sectors to ensure passenger services, and it is উল্লেখযোগ্য that weeks of airspace closure due to regional tensions caused severe disruption for thousands of passengers and significant losses in tourism and trade, but with the reopening of eastern airspace, transit flights can now use comparatively safer routes.
