Under the new directives, educational institutions have been instructed to organize a “special cleanliness campaign” at least once a week, encouraging voluntary participation from both teachers and students to foster a sense of responsibility and hygiene among learners.
After a long break of nearly 40 days due to the holy month of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr, academic activities have officially resumed today, Sunday (March 29), across all primary, secondary, and higher secondary educational institutions in the country.
To ensure a smooth and effective learning environment following the extended تعطিল, the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education has issued several জরুরি guidelines. According to an official notice released on Wednesday (March 24), institutions were instructed to ensure full cleanliness of campuses and classrooms before reopening.
The directives emphasize that cleanliness efforts should not be limited to the reopening day only, but must continue throughout the year. Regular monitoring of classrooms and surrounding areas has been stressed, along with improving institutional cleanliness management systems.
In addition, institutions have been advised to promote environmental awareness by undertaking tree plantation programs, maintaining existing gardens, and conducting motivational activities aimed at encouraging eco-friendly practices among students.
To address the learning gaps caused by the long April, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has taken special initiatives for primary-level students. As part of this effort, all government primary schools will remain open for the next 10 Saturdays. Regular classes will be conducted even on weekly holidays, with the additional academic sessions set to begin from April 4.
Meanwhile, academic activities have also resumed in both public and private universities across the country, which had been temporarily closed since March 9 due to electricity and energy-saving measures. According to the ministry’s directive, all classes and examinations remained suspended from March 9 to March 28.
