Amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, the United States and Iran have finally agreed to a conditional two-week ceasefire; however, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has clearly stated that Lebanon is not included in this proposed ceasefire; according to Al Jazeera, in a statement shared on social media on Wednesday (April 8), Netanyahu said that Israel supports the U.S. decision to temporarily suspend military strikes against Iran, but emphasized that the ceasefire does not cover Lebanon; he further noted that Donald Trump aims to bring Iran into a position where it can no longer pose nuclear, missile, or terrorist threats, and that the United States intends to move forward through negotiations to achieve this goal; meanwhile, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has claimed that the United States, Iran, and their allies have agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere, including Lebanon.
