A total of 43,019 pilgrims from Bangladesh have so far arrived in Saudi Arabia on 108 Hajj flights, according to the latest Hajj bulletin released on Sunday (May 3); meanwhile, seven Bangladeshi pilgrims have died during the Hajj journey so far, among whom five passed away in Mecca and two in Medina; according to the bulletin, 20,483 passengers traveled on 50 flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 14,646 passengers on 39 flights by Saudi Airlines, and 7,890 passengers on 19 flights by Flynas; this year, a total of 78,500 pilgrims have been permitted to perform Hajj from Bangladesh, with 660 agencies managing the operations, including 30 lead agencies and 630 coordinating agencies; the first Hajj flight (BG-3001), carrying 419 pilgrims, departed at 11:57 PM on April 17 from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for King Abdulaziz International Airport; according to the Hajj Office, 4,565 pilgrims are under government management, while 73,935 are under private arrangements; subject to moon sighting, the Hajj is likely to be held on May 26; return flights are scheduled to begin on May 30, with the final flight departing for Dhaka on June 30.
