The ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran has escalated to a new level over the past four days. The fighting has intensified, and concerns about a potential nuclear strike have spread worldwide. Some religious scholars and analysts suggest that prophecies from ancient scriptures may now be coming true.
Following the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, several religious analysts have drawn attention to different parts of the Bible. In Matthew 24:6-7, Jesus is quoted as saying, “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but do not be afraid. These things must happen, but the end is not yet. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.”
Ezekiel 38:5 also mentions “Persia,” considered the ancient name of modern Iran. The verse states, “Persia, Cush, and Put will all bear shields and helmets.” Religious analysts believe this prophecy points to a coalition forming against Israel in the end times.
Bible scholars from the popular podcast “Living Waters,” which has over 1.6 million listeners, had warned last June about the fulfillment of two specific prophecies. The first, from 1 Thessalonians 5:3, reads, “When people say ‘peace and safety,’ then sudden destruction will come.” The second, from Isaiah, states, “Damascus will no longer be a city; it will become a heap of ruins.”
Researchers noted that after an attack on Iran’s nuclear facility, the U.S. president posted that “now is the time for peace.” On the same day, a suicide bombing at a church in Damascus killed 22 people and injured 63. Analysts point out that the coincidence of these events appears to align with the prophecies.
Experts have also stated, “Calls for peace around the world may be seen by many as signs of end-time prophecy.” They cautioned that as global instability increases, such calls for peace could give people a false sense of security, even though the situation suggests the opposite.
It is important to note that these interpretations are the personal views of religious analysts. Most theologians approach such prophecies with historical caution.
