The Israeli military believes that Iran still possesses more than 1,000 ballistic missiles capable of reaching Israel. This information was shared by an Israeli Air Force intelligence officer in an interview with Channel 12 News.
Lieutenant Colonel “Tet,” who leads research on Iranian missiles and drones in the Israeli Air Force’s Air Intelligence Group, said, “The Iranians have more than a thousand missiles that can reach Israel.”
According to the report, at the beginning of the war, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) estimated that Iran had around 2,500 ballistic missiles. Since then, Iran has launched more than 500 missiles toward Israel, along with hundreds more toward other countries in the Middle East.
Additionally, it is believed that several hundred missiles may have been destroyed during the attacks.
In recent weeks, the rate of Iranian missile launches toward Israel has decreased to about 10–15 per day, compared to nearly 90 on the first day of the conflict. Since the start of the war, the Israeli military had assessed that Iran’s attacks would continue and that the rate of missile launches could increase.
In the interview with Channel 12 News, the official said, “To be honest, I don’t think the daily missile launches will drop to zero.”
He further added, “In my view, they (Iran) will continue carrying out ballistic missile attacks. However, I do not think it will be significantly higher than what we have seen so far.”
