A claim has emerged that a U.S. military aircraft was shot down in southwestern Iran, with reports suggesting that at least one pilot ejected from the jet during an emergency. The information was broadcast by a local channel affiliated with Iran’s state television.
According to the report aired on Friday (April 3), the claim surfaced after videos allegedly showing the presence of a U.S. aircraft in the area began circulating on social media.
In a televised announcement, a news presenter called on the public to assist authorities, stating that anyone who captures an enemy pilot alive and hands them over to law enforcement would receive a valuable reward. A scrolling message on the screen also urged people to take immediate action if they spot the individuals.
However, there has been no immediate response from U.S. officials regarding the claim. United States Central Command, Pentagon, and the White House have not issued any statements so far.
The claim comes as tensions in the Middle East enter the fifth week of ongoing conflict. Iran has reportedly continued strikes on various targets across the region. Incidents include damage to a seawater desalination facility in Kuwait and a fire at an oil refinery. In response, the United States and Israel have carried out airstrikes inside Iran.
While the United States and Israel maintain that Iran’s military capabilities have been significantly weakened, Tehran continues to exert strategic pressure on Israel and neighboring Arab states.
