On the occasion of the (Independence and National Day), Zaker Party paid deep tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War of 1971 by placing floral wreaths at the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar.
On Thursday morning, central and local leaders and activists of the party gathered at the memorial premises. They collectively laid wreaths to honor the nation’s greatest heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence. The atmosphere at the memorial turned solemn and emotional, as attendees stood in silence to remember the fallen martyrs.
Following the wreath-laying ceremony, a special prayer (dua and munajat) was held seeking forgiveness and eternal peace for the souls of the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War. Prayers were also offered for the peace, prosperity, and overall well-being of the nation.
The program was led by Zaker Party Secretary General Shamim Haider. Among others present were Additional Secretary General and President of Dhaka North District Shamsuddin Molla, Central Organizing Secretary (Khulna Division) A. Latif Khan Juboraj, Central General Secretary of the Freedom Fighters Front Riaz Mahmud, and President of Dhaka South District Zaker Party A. Razzak, along with leaders and members from various levels of the party and its affiliated organizations.
In their remarks, the leaders stated that Independence Day is a glorious chapter in the nation’s history. They emphasized that the spirit of independence—earned through the immense sacrifices of the martyrs—must be upheld to build a stronger and united nation. They also stressed the importance of presenting the true history of the Liberation War to the younger generation.
At the end of the Event , party leaders and activists reaffirmed their commitment to work for the welfare of the country and its people, inspired by the values of patriotism and the spirit of independence.
