Bus Accident at Daulatdia Ferry Ghat: 5-Member Probe Committee Formed The district administration has formed a five-member investigation committee following a tragic incident in which a passenger bus fell into the Padma River from a pontoon at Daulatdia ferry ghat in Goalanda upazila of Rajbari.
An official order regarding the matter was issued on Wednesday (March 25) night. According to a statement signed by District Commissioner Sultana Akter, the accident involving a passenger bus of Souhardo Paribahan at Daulatdia Ferry Ghat No. 3 has raised serious concerns.
The committee has been formed to investigate the causes of the incident, determine responsibilities, and recommend necessary measures to prevent such accidents in the future.
Additional District Magistrate Uchen May has been appointed as the head of the committee. Other members include Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime & Ops) Md. Shamsul Haque, Assistant General Manager of BIWTC Daulatdia office Mohammad Salah Uddin, and Deputy Assistant Director of Fire Service and Civil Defence Dewan Sohel Rana. Goalanda Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sathi Das will serve as the member secretary.
According to the official order, the committee has been instructed to submit its report to the District Commissioner within three working days.
Meanwhile, as of Thursday morning, reports confirm that at least 18 bodies have been recovered from the accident.
