A delegation from Iran has arrived in Islamabad to hold talks with officials from the United States regarding a ceasefire; Iranian media reported that they reached the capital on Friday night. According to Iran’s semi-official news agency Tasnim, the delegation is led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and includes Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, the Secretary of the Defense Council, the Governor of the Central Bank, and several lawmakers. Upon arrival in Islamabad, the delegation was received by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Meanwhile, to participate in the talks with Iran, U.S. Vice President JD Vance has already departed for Pakistan; he will be joined by President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
