The United States has accepted all ten proposals put forward by Iran; the tenth condition of the proposal required a halt to conflicts across all battlefronts, including Lebanon, but Israel has refused to comply with this particular condition; according to Al Jazeera, on Wednesday (April 8), the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office stated that Tel Aviv supports the decision to temporarily suspend attacks against Iran, however, the two-week ceasefire will not apply to Lebanon, meaning Israel may continue its operations there; in a statement posted on social media platform X, Benjamin Netanyahu said they support the initiative of Donald Trump, which aims to ensure that Iran can no longer pose nuclear, missile, or terrorist threats to the United States, Israel, Iran’s Arab neighbors, and the wider world; he further noted that the United States has informed Israel that it remains committed to achieving these objectives in the upcoming talks scheduled in Islamabad, while clearly emphasizing that the two-week ceasefire does not include Lebanon, even though it is one of Iran’s proposed conditions; earlier, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif claimed that the United States, Iran, and their allies had agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere, including Lebanon, and that the decision would take effect immediately; Lebanon became involved in the conflict on March 2 amid Israeli and U.S. military actions, when the Iran-backed Hezbollah launched attacks on Israel; Hezbollah stated that these strikes were in retaliation for the killing of Ali Khamenei and also a response to violations of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement; according to Lebanese authorities, since March 2, Israeli attacks have killed more than 1,500 people and displaced over one million others, while Israeli forces have also launched a ground offensive in southern Lebanon, aiming to establish a “buffer zone” by capturing additional territory; meanwhile, signals of continued military operations have emerged; however, there has been no immediate response from Hezbollah or Lebanon regarding Netanyahu’s statement, and neither Iran nor the United States has officially commented on any alleged violation of the agreement.
