We were once lost and directionless, completely unaware of the path of guidance and success; then the Lord of the worlds, in His عظیم mercy, sent رسولُ
(اللهِ (ﷺ with the message of هداية—he distinguished truth from falsehood for us, conveyed the true دين, showed us the path of نجات, and taught us how to attain closeness to Allah—this was indeed a great favor upon us; Allah describes this blessing in the Qur’an: لَقَدْ مَنَّ اللهُ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ بَعَثَ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ يَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِهِ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَإِن كَانُوا مِن قَبْلُ لَفِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ—Allah has certainly conferred a great favor upon the believers by sending among them a Messenger from themselves, who recites His verses, purifies them, and teaches them the Book and wisdom, though they were previously in clear error; the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) is not only the leader of all Prophets but also the greatest reformer of humanity, who established a society unmatched in history, built upon revelation that ensures true human excellence, and his selection for this Ummah is a special رحمة from Allah, though only the believers truly benefit from it; he was sent as a mercy to all creation—وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ—“We have not sent you except as a mercy to the worlds”; Imam al-Ṭabarī explains that Allah made the Prophet (ﷺ) a mercy for all—believers are guided through him to Jannah, while disbelievers are spared immediate punishment; scholars also mention that even his struggles and jihad were manifestations of mercy, preserving the divine message and opening hearts; his compassion for his Ummah was boundless—he was an ocean of mercy, constantly concerned for their well-being, never seeking reward but only their salvation; he would weep and say: اللهم أمتي أمتي—“O Allah, my Ummah, my Ummah!”—and Allah replied: إنا سنرضيك في أمتك ولا نسوءك—“We will surely please you regarding your Ummah and not distress you”; he likened himself to a man saving people from fire while they try to escape from his grasp—مثلي ومثلكم…—a powerful image of his care; Allah says: فَلَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ—perhaps you would destroy yourself in grief because they do not believe; even in Ṭā’if, when he was stoned, he did not seek revenge but said: بل أرجو أن يخرج الله من أصلابهم…—“I hope Allah will bring forth from their descendants those who worship Him alone”; he declared himself the closest to believers in this world and the next—ما من مؤمن إلا وأنا أولى الناس به—and said: إنما أنا لكم مثل الوالد—“I am like a father to you”; he reserved his special supplication for the Ummah on the Day of Judgment—لكل نبي دعوة…—demonstrating his ultimate compassion; Allah describes him: لقد جاءكم رسول من أنفسكم عزيز عليه ما عنتم حريص عليكم بالمؤمنين رؤوف رحيم—he is deeply concerned for you, eager for your guidance, and kind and merciful to believers; therefore, love for the Prophet (ﷺ) is essential to faith—لا يؤمن أحدكم حتى أكون أحب إليه…—none of you truly believes until I am more beloved to him than all else; this love is not mere emotion but requires obedience; the sweetness of iman lies in it—ثلاث من كن فيه…—that Allah and His Messenger are more beloved than anything else; and on the Day of Judgment, one will be with whom he loves—المرء مع من أحب; true love demands obedience—لو كان حبك صادقا لأطعته—if your love were sincere, you would obey him; sending blessings upon him is an expression of that love—إن الله وملائكته يصلون على النبي…—O believers, send peace and blessings upon him; the companions (رضي الله عنهم) demonstrated unmatched love—protecting him with their lives, honoring even his hair, and prioritizing his safety over all; one woman at Uhud said: كل مصيبة بعدك جلل—every calamity after your safety is insignificant; such examples show the true standard of love for the Prophet (ﷺ); may Allah fill our hearts with his love, grant us the ability to follow his Sunnah in every aspect of life—آمين; as the poet beautifully said: “If I have any desire in life, it is only this—that I may attain the boundless love of the Prophet (ﷺ).”
