According to international observers, a drone strike has occurred at a laboratory of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, located in the Russian-controlled southeastern region of Ukraine.
On Sunday, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was informed that the drone hit an external laboratory responsible for radiation monitoring at the facility.
Initial reports indicate that no injuries have been recorded. It also remains unclear whether the laboratory sustained any significant damage.
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi stated that the agency’s team has requested access to the laboratory to assess the situation on-site.
He further warned that any attack near a nuclear facility poses serious risks and could threaten overall nuclear safety.
